This will be my summer

That is what my weekend looked like. It was perfect. Summer is here, I'm not teaching, so my favorite activity can resume without disruption. I love to read and I have a stack of books waiting to be tackled. I let my sister borrow my nook a while back to read The Hunger Games and when I was there last week I got it back and started reading a new series, Fifty Sades of Grey. The only problem with me having my nook back is that once I start a good book I can't stop reading it. I get engrossed in the world I'm reading about and I can't put it down  I'm constantly analyzing my life compared to the book, the characters, the relationship, the situations and I crave more and need to know what's going to happen. I'm pretty sure the longest it's ever taken me to read a whole book (for the first time) is about 3 days because that's all I do for three days. Eat? Sleep? Shop? Nope, gotta finish my book first. Thank goodness I have a lovingly understanding husband who knows what I am like when I find a good book and only interrupts for important things and brings dinner to me while I read and the most important part...he listens to me talk about what's happening even though he has no clue what I'm even reading about. And when there are movies that come out after the books, you bet he's sitting in the seat next to me watching the movie so that when it's over I can tell someone how much better the book was. I love my man. I reassured him the other day that this new series I'm on is only three books so our life can return to normal soon. :) I'm way worse when I'm reading a series because I can't stop. The idea that there are more books after the one I'm on makes me want to read faster and know everything. The only problem I have with reading is not that interferes with my sleeping or eating habits, but that when the book is over I feel a sense of loss. I know, I may have a problem but at least it's a fairly healthy one. So, I challenge you all to read at least one good book this summer. If you need recommendations you know where to find me...on my deck with a glass of wine and a book.

  1. I havent' read these books but I know of their content. Your conversations with hubby around this one should be interesting to say the least! :)
