Crafting Day

My cousin, sister, aunt and I got together for a small "Pinterest Party" (family craft day more or less). We had some failure projects and some that turned out very cute. My cousin tried to make a stepping stone for her yard that looked adorable on Pinterest but apparently the person that made it bought different rocks that glue sticks to, because we could not get any glue to adhere to the rocks so that was a Pinterest fail. My sister made some adorable pots. One for her daughter's teacher and then some stacking pots for her yard. After the stepping stone failure, my cousin made a set of stacking flower pots for her yard as well and they turned out great! I can't wait to see them with flowers in them. I spent the majority of my day teaching myself how to sew with the help of my aunt who used to sew a while back. I borrowed my Grandma's sewing machine and was determined to make some lens cases and a small camera case for my new camera that I could easily throw into my purse. I needed something to keep the lenses and camera padded so they don't bang around, but I did not want to carry around my huge camera case. Sewing was a learning experience and I actually enjoyed it after I figured out the basics. My biggest issue is cutting the dang fabric straight- any tips?!? because that did not go so well. I also tried making a birds nest necklace. I'm not sure it turned out great...but not a total failure either. Here are some pics from the day. Oh, my cousin also made this amazing fruit dip recipe she found on Pinterest and it was delicious!!! I suggest you all try it. I know I will be requesting it at the next family get together. :)
