IT'S HERE!!!

MY BIRTHDAY! I'm a birthday freak. I LOVE my birthday. I always have and I probably always will. I know many people out there that aren't birthday fans because it means their getting older. I don't really care about getting older. I just enjoy celebrating a day that is about ME (well and my twin sister). That may sound selfish, that I want a whole day just about me but I don't care, it's the truth. When it's your birthday it can be all about you and I'll be there with bells on to help you celebrate it (except the time I accidentally forgot my mom's birthday..oops sorry mom), but today it's all about me (and my sister). I used to hate adding that part, because it never really was just MY day but I've gotten used to it and I actually do enjoy having someone to share the day with. It probably wouldn't be as special of a day if I hadn't had to share the day with someone else my whole life. But, that is all I'm willing to share with, just one other person. My sister and I actually have an agreement to never have kids in the month of August so that there are no birthday sharing accidents. Over the years, sharing hasn't been so bad...we've figured it out. One year, a long time ago, we decided we wanted separate cakes. None of this blow out the candles twice or at the same time business, we wanted our own cakes. Ever since then, we've had our own cakes. Of course it's much easier now that we don't live together and hardly celebrate the "cake part" together, but I still get a little giddy every time I see my very own birthday cake. So silly, but I love it. We've also spent pretty much every year doing something together for a few hours. Today we are going to have a 2 hour couples massage, my sis' b-day present to me. Yep, I can't wait!

I love how my phone was flooded with voice mails and texts before I even got out of bed this morning and I got up at 6:30 so that's saying a lot. There are some earlier risers out there (probably all those people who actually work in the summer). Today always reminds me of the amazing people I get to share my life with, especially the amazing man I get to wake up next to each morning. He knows how to make a birthday special and knows that this is my favorite day. Maybe because all week I've been telling him it's my birthday week, but whatever...when the time comes he knows how to deliver a happy birthday! I'm so thankful for the great people in my life and for the one person I get to share this special day with. Happy Birthday Sister!!

Now I'm off to enjoy my massage and the rest of my birthday extravaganza. I have my cinderella shoes on today too! It's going to be a wonderful day. Hope you all have a good day as well.
