I might as well just open up a pet store and start selling the millions of mice that follow me everywhere I go. This mice situation is getting out of hand over here. You all may not know my history with mice so I'll update you.
Long time ago:
* Had a pet mouse as a kid, his name was Gus. I held him occasionally, watched him run around in his cage, he was cute and life was good.
Fast forward to home ownership:
Last Winter:
* Husband is out of town on a business trip. Dogs need food. I pour food in the bowl and notice a small piece of 'lint' oops, just kidding it's not lint a lovely mouse pops his little head out and scares the living you know what out of me. I run out of the house, call the hubs in another state, lose the mouse, and sleep with towels stuffed in the door cracks to my bedroom.
*We put out traps and catch another 8 or so mice that winter.
* Mice invade my classroom cupboard at school. We catch 3.
Last Spring:
* Spring. Baby mice start falling from the basement ceiling. We catch 5.
This Summer:
*One shows up on a trap that we've had out for months, I run screaming and crying into the bathroom.
* I now know I have an irrational fear of mice.
* Finally think all the mice are gone.
About 3 weeks ago:
*Wait, just kidding again...2 mice show up in the laundry tub. ??WTH??
Last Week:
* And they're back in the school cupboard, eating bird seed. We remove the bird seed.
* They followed me to Home Depot and scurried across the bird seed bag pile there, just to remind me that they are following me.
Yesterday:
* Now they're in my basement again trying to eat through a plastic container to get the birdseed at my house.
* Go to Menards and buy LOTS of LARGE mouse traps. Tempted to buy all they had.
Today:
* They've returned to school, they'll settle for coffee grounds this time.
* The hubs checks the trap at home. We caught not 1, not 2, but you guessed it...3!!!! 3 freaking mice on one trap!!!
NOW:
Call an exterminator to follow me everywhere I go, buy stock in mouse traps, and never feed the birds again.
I can't take it anymore. Every noise I hear I think it's a mouse. And really, what mouse eats coffee grounds??
