1. Christmas has officially taken over our household and I love it! I'm thinking that during the time of year that your Christmas tree is up you should not be required to go to work anymore. Staying at home under a cozy blanket with a cup of coffee is much more beneficial to
2. I made these christmas trees out of card stock and the random stuff you see on the outside of them. Which made them fairly cheap to make because I just happen to have lots of card stock and random crap. My hands ended up with permanent scars from hot glue gun burns but it was worth it. I'm not really loving how they're displayed though. hmmm.
3. I can't think of anything at all to get my husband for our anniversary, Christmas, or his birthday. Which all happen to fall within the next month span. I should have thought ahead when planning our wedding and realized the gift giving issue I would create for years to come. Maybe I should recruit my niece to help out on this one? I am however, done with everyone else's gifts on my list. Yay for that.
4. I have a little venting to do here. We have a local radio station morning show that I listen to every morning all year long that does what they call "Christmas Wish" where you can write in and nominate a family that's in need and they do what they can to help them out. They do this now until Christmas and just about every day and sometimes all day. Well, I totally agree that this is important and spreading the love and helping our community is awesome. But, (you knew there was a but coming) why must they do it in the morning on my way to work??? Why?? I always end up crying because I'm a sap and these stories are so freaking sad and then I look awesome when I get into work. I think they should change this segment for the drive home from work so all my co-workers can stop thinking that I may just need a one on one session with our school psych. Seriously.
Moving on from Christmas...
5. I'm excited for a weekend filled with all of my favorite kids. My oldest niece turns 7 on Monday, which makes me feel pretty old. Her party is Sunday and I am super excited to give her the hula-hoop that she's been asking me for for months. That kid has the best gift ideas ever. Last year she asked Santa for a pogo stick. She's sticking with that again this year since her mom ran over the one from last year with the car.
6. I got to see my Mom this week :) we had a mother/daughter date and it was awesome!
7. Funny story. What do you do when you run out of conditioner? You yell, swear, and then do some sweet yet unsafe maneuver to get the last drop out of the bottom of the container. Yep, this happened to me the other night. In the middle of the shower I realize I am out of conditioner in my container (you know those suction liquid dispensers that you hang in your shower?) so I yelled to the hubs to get me the bottle out of the cupboard, but of course it was gone. So then I said some not so nice words to which he responded "I think you'll be okay without conditioner one time". UMMM NO! You try to brush this hair after it's been wet without conditioner, I'd be brushing until next month. So then I came up with a plan that ended with me straddling the tub, jamming my hand in the top of the dispenser thing, scraping out what was left on the sides of the container, and falling not so gracefully back into the tub. But my hair brushed out very nicely after that I must say.
P.S. Hairdresser aka sister if you're reading this...I need more conditioner.
Enjoy your weekend! :)
