Random Weekend Thoughts

Last night I had this genius idea to host a V-day party and I am so excited to make yummy food and decorate and spend some time with friends. And may I just say that I am in LOVE with the beginning of my Valentine's decorations. All of the Christmas stuff is down and put away and the house feels empty and needs some cheer. So, since I had the day off I started with these adorable heart wreaths that I found here. Ridiculously easy! Cut a million, okay not a million but about 100, 1 1/2-2 in. felt circles. Then fold them in half and half again and pin the corner into a foam heart wreath, keep pinning until it's full and you're done!

After I made the all red one I LOVED it and had to make another one. I don't know if this is where they will stay, but for now they hang in the giant window.

My other obsession is making fabric flowers. I have no idea what the in the world I will do with all of them but every time I see a new one I have to try it. So today I tried these because you get to burn them! Adding a little excitement into my fabric flower making. :) I found the tutorial here.

 














Basically you cut out different size circles, singe the edges a bit so they start to curl up, layer them and just stitch through the middle and add an embellishment. I didn't even need to use the bowl of water I had on stand by!

Other random weekend thoughts:

* While at Michael's buying craft stuff I found iPhone covers for $3!!! I bought 2, but I'm so tempted to back and buy one in every color. Sooo cheap!!

* Bought the pups a new kennel, a big one so they can share. Pico doesn't like it...he puked in it the first night. I think he wants his old one back.

* Organized our files yesterday and came to a realization...we keep too much shit! But the files are now pretty, easy to find, and ORGANIZED!

* Figured out how to do some awesome stuff with Picnik.

* My new class starts this week (let's hope that's a good thing).

* Hubby is gone all week. Boo!

* I wish there was a dryer that folded your clothes after they were dry. I hate folding clothes! (I did a lot of that this weekend)

* Getting the itch to move somewhere warm. I love the excitement of embracing new places, but the thought of all the things that go along with a move freaks the crap out of me. humm. What to do?

* Life is too short, surround yourself with the people you love. (more on this later)

* Did I mention I am excited for my Valentine's Day party?
