Leap!

Happy Leap Day!! I find today to be kind of an awesome day, it's weird, only comes around once every four years. I like weird. (Side note: it is also extra awesome because I got a SNOW DAY today! Oh the joys of being a teacher.) I think having your birthday today would be amazing! Think about it...you get to REALLY celebrate every 4 years, because let's face it, it's going to be a big deal if your b-day actually only turns up once every 4 years. Then, every other year you get to celebrate for two days the 28th and the 1st, well that's what I'd do-just because you can. I'll never forget, I was in church once when I was younger and this old man was sitting in front of us and he turned around and asked how old we were. So we told him and then he told us he was like 20 or something (the guy had to be at least 80) and I remember laughing so hard (when your little things like that are funny) and him explaining that he was born on a leap year. So, no point to that story really, but he was a cool dude!

Anywho, since it was a snow day today and leap day I figured I better celebrate. So keeping up with the leap year theme...I took a leap! I bought RED skinny jeans. Yep, you heard me...RED! I've been wanting to buy them for awhile and have been telling the hubby that for awhile as well. Every time we would go to a store and saw some he would ask "Are you brave enough to buy the red jeans today?" to which I would reply "no". Well after I braved the snow/ice/sleet storm at 4am this morning to bring the hubby to the airport and then got lost on the way home. Well, I had some extra thinking time in the car while I drove 30 minutes out of my way to get home. After seeing multiple cars do 360s in front of me on the freeway and sliding through two intersections and being okay, I had a thought. "If I died in a car accident right now, I would have never even bought or wore those damn red skinny jeans" - I know that's a strange thought, but give me a break, I was running low on sleep. So I went shopping (later after the roads had been plowed) and bought a pair of red skinny jeans, and I am proud to say I LOVE THEM!

Now, you must know that my wardrobe consists of my favorite "colors" black, white, and gray. I am not joking...you may see a blue or brown thrown in there because I do step outside the box once in awhile, but mostly it's black, white, and gray. But, lately I've been on this new kick to take risks, be myself, and who cares what anyone else thinks. A few months ago I really got crazy and bought a red scarf, which I also fell in love with and wear too often probably. After that I bought some red lipstick, and it wasn't even for Halloween! The jury is still out on the red lipstick though, haven't decided if it's a keeper. Then I saw this and I wanted a pair, but figured if I bought them, I would never wear them and they'd sit in my closet and collect dust or I'd look like a clown. Well it's leap day, so I leaped and bought the red pants. I will wear them, because they are awesome. I may look like a clown, but that's okay with me. I'm a risk taking, don't care what anyone else thinks, red pants wearing kinda clown!

So, now that you've read way too much about my red pants- here is a picture. :) And a few of the lovely snow- I had to take some pictures because I fear this just may be it for the snow this year.
