Weekend Wrap-up

Guess what we did today?? Organized the garage! Yep, that little huge task that we attempted earlier in the summer and should have received a participation award for, well this time around we earned the blue ribbon! The hubs went to get something for his Jeep at the auto store and apparently they had these pegboard kit things on clearance so he bought three. When he got home he told me he had a surprise for me and when I went out to the garage and saw the boxes...lets just say, best surprise ever! Okay, that may be a little dramatic but I've been trying to get him to organize the garage since the day we moved in. It's a one car garage and we need the space in it. It was horrible, it was the place where tools and random things went and never returned. So this morning he was out there installing these new pegboards and was ready to get things done so I jumped right on that band wagon. It's just like potty training a kid, when they finally show interest you go gung-ho, buy 5 potty chairs, throw away all diapers and get it done! And get it done we did. I'm so happy with our organized garage and even more happy that we finished it before winter came. Here are some pics that I know you are dying to see.

You can actually see the bench now!

Other exciting weekend news:

* I made some cinnamon roasted almonds Saturday morning...AMAZING! I'll share the recipe soon.

* Back to work tomorrow. I bought myself a new work bag to get pumped up. It's not working. Maybe when I actually get to use the new bag tomorrow I will feel more pumped??

* Tried my hand at super gluing a torn nail back together...well the nail is fixed but my finger got superglued to the nail as well and then the skin got ripped off and is stuck to the nail so I'm not sure if that's a success or failure? My stinging finger leads me to believe it was a failure.

* I watched my nieces last night while their parents attended a concert and my sweet little Veronica fell asleep snuggling with me. How can I resist when she says so innocently "I snuggle my auntie". Love that she's still so little. Even Kylie snuggled with me. As I was rubbing her head she said "I wish my mom and dad had something to do every night so I could cuddle with you and you could rub my head every night." So now I am on a mission to find something for them to do every night. These kids have me wrapped around their fingers.

*Funniest thing..Kylie gets out of the bath and says "Auntie can you do my hair like you do when you get out of the bath?" After a couple minutes of clarification this is what she wanted.

The kid was sooo happy to have her hair wrapped in a towel! With a huge grin on her face she says "I NEVER GET TO HAVE MY HAIR LIKE THIS!!!"

* And we shared ice cream for bed time snack!

* I also spent some quality time with the pups today because it's back in the kennel for them tomorrow when I go back to work :(

Yumm Dirt!

*And in case all of you summer lovers refuse to believe me that fall is coming. I have proof.

There are leaves on my deck.

Fall colored M&M's are out!! They make a great center piece :)
