Christmas Recap

Well considering that it's now New Year's Eve that must mean Christmas is over, which kinda makes me want to cry. My tree is still up, but coming down today. insert sad face. My house always feels ugly after Christmas. There are no more twinkling lights outside, empty stockings hung with the promise of Christmas day, or a giant pretty tree to curl up next to, it makes me sad. But, it's time to move on to the next year. Maybe I can go buy some pink and red lights and start a new Valentine's day tradition. No?

Anyways, Christmas was good this year, with just the minor setback of my disgusting rash and the hubs' 48 hour flu that he thankfully managed to shake the day before Christmas Eve, all was well. We spent lots of quality time with family and friends and each other and each year I feel more blessed than the one before. The best part every year is seeing how excited the kids are and the magic that comes with believing in Santa. The hubs and I talked about how much more exciting Christmas will be when we have children in the house that believe and are excited. He and I rolled out of bed around 8, did our usual non-work day routine and then around 10 or so decided we should probably open our gifts before we left for my Mom's house. I'm pretty sure any household with children in it, the scene was much more exciting than that. Either way, for now that's our Christmas.  Here's some pics of the excitement that really did happen.
Sharing some cashews with the dogs.
My Cousin and Sister
Mom and Aunt- Can't tell they're sisters.
Ronnie wanted to help open every present.
Daddy and his girls.
Love this girl.
Building with Uncle Jimmy.

One of her presents from us- a Lala Loopsie Doll.
My cousin Andrea. - And very Happy Birthday to her today! :)

New trike from Grandpa and Sully- All she asked me for was a "Sully Christmas".

Can you tell that I love my nieces? They never complain how they look in photos and they're freakin' adorable.

And my favorite gifts this year? Hands down, my Grandpa and Grandma take the cake. They are one talented duo. My Gramps recorded a Christmas CD for everyone. He plays the guitar, and he plays it well. I've gotten many cds and songs from him over the years and this year it combined 2 of my favorite things, him and Christmas music. Perfection. It's been on repeat since I got it, who cares if Christmas is over. And my Grandma makes cards that are absolutely amazing and beautiful and everything you could ever dream up packaged into a card. This year was extra special times two because she included a poem written by her and the most delicate tatted and woven wreaths. I was lucky enough to get the 1st ones that she made with a special note. (No, I'm not the favorite Grandchild, she gave it randomly) but I did feel extra special because I know how hard she works to make her cards and the thought and love that's put in to each one. She is my creative inspiration.

It was a very merry Christmas. I hope yours was the same. Now onto the new year. But, first the hubs birthday is tomorrow so there is more celebrating to do.
