I feel pretty, oh so pretty...

I feel pretty, and witty, and itchy. But really just one of those three, bet you can't guess which one. Here, let me help you.

Ding. Ding. Ding. Itchy it is! Wanna cuddle?

This Thing has taken over my body within the last week. It started out nice and small like tiny little pin pricks on my stomach and now here we are a week later and I look like that. This this has spread from my stomach up to my upper chest, around my back, up my shoulders, down my arms, up my neck, down my thighs, and it's currently holding steady under my chin just waiting to make it's debut to my face for Christmas.
The doctor nurse practitioner said she thinks it may possibly be a viral rash and it could maybe but probably not be contagious and it might go away within a week or so and it shouldn't but there's a possibility that it could spread more but it might not and it should get better. And I'm pretty certain that she had no clue what is wrong and was probably making it all up! So for now this red bumpy itchy monster gets to take over my body until it either goes away or Christmas Eve arrives and I get to spend my morning back at the clinic.
I've searched and searched the interwebs for clues as to what this may be and I'm pretty sure it's not an allergic reaction. I'm also sure that searing the internet for "rashes" and "red bumpy rash" is a search I never want to do again. There are some mighty disgusting pictures out there. Don't worry, I'm sure mine will be added to the collection soon enough.
So, any ideas out there in the world wide web of this thing is? If I ever do find out what it is I'll be sure to update you, until then I will be downing the Benadryl, slathering on the calamine lotion, and sleeping off the Benadryl.

Hey, at least the world didn't end! :) Happy Friday!

  1. WTH?! I feel so badly for you!!!!!!! It looks like something one of our kids had years ago, of course I can't remember what we did or what it was, my brain is crap, sorry! I am guessing it is a viral thing though, based on the appearance and way it spread and keeps spreading...:( NO fun for CHRISTMAS your most magical time of year :((( SO SAD FOR YOU! Hang in there! And here is hoping for a rash healing Christmas miracle!

  2. Did you happen to change the laundry detergent or bath soap you were using? I don't have (knock on wood...) any skin allergies that I know of but boy does my son in law break out at the strangest things. My daughter changed the laundry detergent and this is what he looked like.
